Paul and His Seven Undisputed Letters

Our goal for our last class was to complete the discussion of Paul’s Letter to the Romans, but we didn’t make it.  Romans is filled with items that beg for discussion, and we went further in that the context and background of Paul’s letters create an understanding of the early Jesus movement.  And not only with Paul’s letters but with the gospels.  And not only an understanding of the early Jesus movement, but a better understanding of the lessons and Gospels that we hear during church services.

So we did not finish with Romans, but the time was well spent.  Next time, our last class before summer break, we will finish Romans, the peace, comfort, and grandeur it offers, the words of a contented apostle.  We will learn more of this twilight period for Paul, for he will soon live under perpetual house arrest, yet as the last verses of Acts conclude, “…Paul welcomed all who came to see him.  He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance!”
